Stain Resistant
EkoTina fabrics are engineered to resist stains, even in challenging scenarios like continuous exposure to chlorinated water, making them suitable for swimwear applications. The secret lies in silicone’s low surface tension—one of the lowest among organic polymers, apart from fluorocarbons and fluorosilicone polymers—which provides exceptional anti-fouling properties.
With a surface tension as low as 20 mN/m, silicone creates a barrier that resists stains from common contaminants like lipstick, coffee, mascara, sunscreen, denim dye, markers, mustard, tomato sauce, and red wine. Most stains can be effortlessly removed with water or a mild detergent. However, silicone leather is not resistant to hair dye or organic solvents.
Care Instructions: Chemicals and Cleaners to Avoid
To maintain the quality and longevity of EkoTina fabrics, avoid the following substances:
Hair dye
Hydrocarbon solvents (e.g., gasoline, kerosene, nail polish)
Benzene solvents
Cyclosiloxane oligomers (commonly found in liquid makeup removers)
While many disinfectants are chlorine-based, EkoTina swimming cap fabrics can endure soaking in chlorine solutions for up to 48 hours without damage, showcasing their durability in demanding conditions.
Choose EkoTina silicone fabrics for unparalleled abrasion resistance, stain protection, and versatile applications that stand the test of time.
Abrasion Resistant
EKoTina silicone fabrics offer exceptional durability and abrasion resistance, making them ideal for high-traffic environments. Due to our advanced silicone technology, these fabrics deliver toughness and stability while maintaining a luxurious soft touch.
Silicone is already a proven material in various industries, from commercial building sealants to automotive gaskets and oven-safe baking molds, underscoring its robust and reliable nature.
Our upholstery fabrics surpass industry standards with over 200,000 Wyzenbeek double rubs, 130,000+ Martindale rubs, and 3,000+ Taber abrasions, ensuring they are fully commercial-grade and capable of enduring heavy use. Beyond contract markets, our fabrics resist extreme environmental conditions, such as intense sunlight, saltwater spray, tropical heat, polar cold, and rigorous hospital-grade cleaning procedures.
Weather Resistant
EkoTina's silicone fabrics are designed to excel in extreme weather conditions, due to their exceptional weather resistance properties. This includes hydrolysis resistance, UV aging resistance, salt spray resistance, and tolerance for both extreme low and high temperatures.
Additionally, they demonstrate outstanding crack resistance and durability in harsh environments.
The unique molecular structure of silicone, featuring a silica-bonded inorganic main chain without double bonds, ensures remarkable chemical stability. This stability enables EkoTina to resist degradation caused by ozone, ultraviolet rays, high humidity, salt spray, and other environmental factors that typically erode or age common materials.
Performance Under Specific Conditions
- Without requiring additional anti-mildew treatments, EkoTina‘s silicone naturally resists mold and mildew growth. If dirt or debris accumulates, mold can be easily removed with bleach or standard cleaning methods, ensuring long-term cleanliness and hygiene.
